Indy and Alton

Yesterday: Me and Laura (my girlfriend) went to Pizza Hut for dinner and then headed off to the cinema to watch Indiana Jones: the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. We decided to try the new pepperoni stuffed crust pizza and it was delish, really filling though. The film was great, better than I expected – they really went to town with it and it was faithful to the originals.

Today: We went to Alton Towers and it was great. We managed to go on more or less everything and we had a staff pass (from a friend of my step-dads) so we could get in cheaper and earlier. The weather finally picked up which made it a lot better and it was quite sunny come dinner time. Spent loads of money there (£13 for two lots of burger and chips!) but it was good nevertheless. The new pirate theming for Mutiny Bay was great, better than I expected – also the pirate show in the Courtyard was great to watch while eating dinner. Finally went on the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride and it was actually really good, great theming and rather amusing. Saw Kane, a friend of mine that works there, so we stopped by and spoke to him for a while too and had a laugh.

All in all, the past two days have been great :D

Current mood: Knackered.

UPDATE: Also, I have received Call of Duty 4 and a new 58mm circular polarizer filter for my camera. :D

New Photos

Hey everyone,

I have added three new photos to the Nature gallery, taken Friday evening while I was out walking with my girlfriend. Opinions?

UPDATE: Added even more photos – Created a new gallery, ‘The Roaches‘ and added a new photo to the Nature gallery. Also updated the album/gallery descriptions and other small tweaks.

I have also updated the Work/Projects page, and more will be added soon.

Also my first lot of exams are now over, so I have a week off to spend chilling with my girlfriend. We are going to go watch Indiana Jones 4 on Wednesday, and we are going to Alton Towers on Thursday. Should be a great week before I get back I have to do my Media Studies exams.

New Photo Gallery

I am currently working on a new gallery system, as you can see here. I have made it ready to add any future photos I take. This isn’t a plugin or anything, I have coded it myself – it is only basic and it is a manual system, with the help of the Lightbox script. Opinions/suggestions anyone?

And I have my first AS Exam on Monday, eek – still need to get some more revision done, but I find it hard to.

UPDATE: I have noticed a bug on the site (thanks to Tom for pointing it out) that caused it to display most of the page with strike-through text. It appeared to be due to WordPress adding a “del datetime” tag (thanks to Torsten) which wasn’t closed properly, but I have removed it and added some CSS to stop it from being a strike-through in the future.

Canon 300D is here!

Hey everyone,

I finally got my Canon 300D (Digital Rebel) dSLR camera today, and woo, it is ace! I am only just starting to get into professional photography, and hopefully this camera will help me get a good start. I have taken a few test photos and the quality is superb, hopefully there should be some good photos from me in the not so distant future.

And this camera was given to me as a gift from college for doing some filming/editing work for them a few weeks ago. I really didn’t expect anything like this, and it is muchly appreciated.

Schizien Phen

Hey,

Here is my AS Media Studies coursework film that me and a few others finished a few months ago. Filming, editing and special effects by me, directed by Kane Baguley, lighting by Nick Vaughan, sound and additional help by Elliot Evans. Starring Marcus Krähenbühl. The name ‘Schizein Phen’ comes from the Greek name for Schizophrenia. The brief of the project was to create the opening sequence of a thriller movie. Video below:

Goodbye Mr Ted

One of my dogs, Ted, has recently been rather ill and we took him to the vets yesterday. We then found out that he had a twisted intestine and it is going to cost over £1000 to fix, and with not guarantee that he will pull though. But, a nurse there said she will pay for the operation if she can have him afterwards, so we have had to let him go to her. =( I feel sorry for my other dog, she is going to be all alone now, and she doesn’t know what is going on.

On a slightly lighter note, there may be a chance in the not-so-far future that I will be getting some better hosting, so hopefully the site should be a lot faster at loading.

UPDATE: Ted’s heart stopped on the operating table and has passed away =( It’s such a horrible day, he was an amazing dog and he will be missed.
