Wii Connection Ambassador

Nintendo have just released a new scheme to get everyone’s Wii connected to the Internet. If you help someone get their Wii online, both you and the person you connected get 500 Wii points to spend in the Wii Store (to buy things such as games and channels). Getting your Wii online means that you get access to new channels and content, and be able to download new games too. You can now watch the BBC iPlayer on the Wii, meaning that you can catch up with all BBC programs at any time. It also allows you to play certain titles over the Internet with friends and people all around the world (Mario Kart Wii to name a good one). I was wondering if using this scheme I could help people get their Wii online and in doing so would allow us to both benefit. Take a look here for benefits of getting your Wii online: http://www.nintendo.com/wii/internet

Here is a great tutorial on how to connect your Wii to the Internet: http://us.wii.com/connect/

Once your Wii is up and running and connected to the Internet, follow the steps below to activate the bonus Wii points for both of us:

  • Enter the Wii Shop Channel
  • On the Wii Shop Channel welcome page there is an icon called ‘Connection Ambassador Promotion’
  • Select this icon and you will be prompted by two icons: one showing that you are the Connection Ambassador (or the Helper) and the other icon showing that you are the ‘Person Who Was Helped’
  • Select the ‘Person Who Was Helped’ icon
  • You will be prompted to enter the Wii Number: 5248-8782-3737-3511
(You must do this within 30 days of accessing the Wii Shop Channel)

Once both parties have registered, you will have received 500 Wii Points on your Wii Shop Channel Accounts to spend in the Wii Shop Channel

Unreal Engine 3 Free

UDK

Epic Games have released their complete Unreal Engine 3 (one of the most advanced and powerful game engines around) for free to indie and mod developers. This is a massive step, especially considering that the engine is worth millions, and yet people can now have access to all of the engine tools for nothing at all. The tools have been appropriately named as the Unreal Development Kit (UDK) and can now be downloaded straight from http://www.udk.com/.

New Photos

I really do need to start updating this blog more recently (it’s been nearly 2 months from the last time), and I know I keep saying it (not that many people even read it anyway, so its somewhat a catch 22 situation). And speaking of ’22′, I’m pretty sure that I am being haunted by that number – I keep seeing it everywhere? Unless I am just going mad and it’s going to turn out that it was my fault all along (ya know, like the film The Number 23). Anyway, not much has particularity happened in the ‘Wonderful Life of Jamie Oliver’ as of late (that is of grave importance that everyone must know at any rate), so I haven’t had much to post about anyway. There have been moments where I thought about posting something and then since either forgot or just really couldn’t be bothered.

Well, for a start I have since taken some new photos while out on my travels (I say travels, only to Alton Towers again and Matlock Bath), but either way I have some pretty decent photos which I am proud of. All of which are long exposure shots, which I haven’t played with very much before so in doing so it has been a learning curve. So head over to my image gallery at deviantART and take a gander, and let me know what you think.

And is it just me, or do I use prosthesis in my posts just a bit too much?

Anyway, over and out – and I never know how long ‘out’ will be; lets hope it isn’t as long as the last time (not that this post will be read by anyone within the next few months anyway). And look, there I go again with the prosthesis…
